TEAM PISTOL SHOOT

2019 Shoot Date and Rules - See Below

2016 Results

The 2016 Team Pistol Shoot took place on Saturday September 17th at 11am. We had10  teams compete on a dreary, rainy fall day. Both the novice and experienced shooters were challenged with 5 different stages of fire. Some stages were simply shooting for high score, some were shooting for the fastest time. And some added both elements together for a psychological challenge that added fun to the competition.

Violation of any of the following rules may result in disqualification

By participating in this shooting event, I agree to follow all of the rules below:
Violation of any of the following rules, or the spirit of the rules, may result in disqualification.
  1. No UNSAFE acts, horseplay, etc. are allowed on the range, nor on the premises.
  2. ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a SAFE direction.
  3. ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
  4. ALWAYS keep the gun unloaded until ready to use it.
  5. Follow ALL posted Range Rules.
  6. Eye and Ear protection shall be worn by all shooters. Eye and Ear protection is highly recommended for all spectators.
  7. Handguns only. Any caliber handgun may be used. Optics, "red-dots" or "iron sights" are allowed, including fiber optic sights. NO laser sights allowed.
  8. Two (2) person teams. Any combination is allowed, as long as at least one (1) person is 18 or over.
  9. Parents MUST sign a waiver and consent to allowing a minor to participate.
  10. Any Judge or Event Official’s decision is final.
  11. No handling of firearms away from the ready line, EXCEPT when: un-boxing, holstering, moving the pistol to or from the firing line, un-holstering, or boxing the gun when finished. The muzzle shall ALWAYS be pointed in a SAFE direction.
  12. This shall be a COLD range, meaning all firearms shall be brought to the firing line unloaded. The Range Officer will instruct when firearms are to be loaded.
  13. No magazines in firearms, except at the firing line, after being instructed to load by the Range Officer.
  14. Exposed hip holsters may be worn; however, guns shall remain unloaded while in a holster. No other types of holsters allowed.
  15. All shooting will start from a "low ready." There shall be NO drawing and shooting from the holster. The shooter's trigger finger shall remain outside the trigger guard until the start signal is given.
  16. Magazine or speed loader pouches may be worn.
  17. Magazines or speed loaders may be loaded away from the firing line. Any limit to the number of rounds in magazines or speed loaders will be announced and shall be followed by the shooter.
  18. Upon firing the last shot, the shooter shall show the Range Officer that the gun is unloaded and clear. All firearms shall leave the firing line unloaded.
  19. Dropping a firearm, whether loaded or unloaded shall result in disqualification of that shooter's team.
  20. This is a “No Alibi” event. Therefore if the firearm or ammunition malfunctions, it is the shooter's responsibility to clear the problem safely and continue on. A malfunction of any of the shooter's equipment or ammunition will NOT result in shooting a course of fire over.
  21. If a shooting timer, or piece of range equipment malfunctions, or if a mistake is made by a judge or scorekeeper, the shooter will be allowed to shoot the run again.
  22. Those individuals with a valid Concealed Pistol License (CPL) may carry concealed on the range. However, said pistol shall remain holstered, and NOT be used for the competition. NO other loaded firearm shall be allowed on the range. NO exceptions.
Scoring:
  1. When shooting targets with scoring rings or zones, any bullet hole that breaks a scoring line, will be given the higher score.
  2. The scoring judge or range officer’s decision is final.
  3. When shooting for elapsed time, the timekeeper’s decision is final.
  4. The shooter can question or protest a judge or timekeeper’s decision, for good reason, however arguing with the official is grounds for disqualification and the shooter’s team will be asked to leave the event.
  5. In the event of a tie, a tie-breaker will be used. See below.

Tie-Breakers:

In the event of a tie, one (1) of the following tie-breakers will be used.

Timed stage tie. Tie-breakers will be used in the following order:

1.      5-target “fast” stage. Shooting 5 targets, as set by the officials, in the fastest time wins.

2.      If a tie still exists after #1 above, the tie-breaker will be shot again until a winner is determined.

Scored stage tie. Tie-breakers will be used in the following order:

1.      Lowest number of shots taken for that stage.

2.      The most “high scored hits" for that stage.

3.      “High score” shootout. 3 rounds on 1 target, in 30 seconds, for high score.

4.      If a tie still exists after #3 above, a "High score" shootout, 3 rounds on 1 target, in 10 seconds, for high score, will be shot. This tie breaker will continue to be used until a winner is determined.
